Committees
The Council is organized into a series of committees which carry out the key work of the organization. All are open to membership by CCTC members:
Executive – Elected and Appointed by the Board – Bert Jackson
The Executive Committee provides overall leadership to the Council and consists of four officers (Chairman, Vice Chairman, Clerk/Secretary, Past Chairman, and Treasurer), and one to two added Board members, all elected by the Board of Directors by majority vote. The committee also acts on behalf of the Board on matters needing immediate attention between regular meetings of the full board and takes other actions as specified. Its role is to drive implementation of this strategic plan as well as lead the Council.
Membership – Paula Hersey
The Membership Committee works to recruit new members and organizations to the Council through a variety of outreach efforts and strategies. The work of the committee is critical as the organization is member-run with part-time administrative help.
Infrastructure – Gene Curry
The Infrastructure Committee aims at advancing the technology infrastructure in the region, including but not limited to:
- Telecommunications
- Energy
- Related transportation
- Environmental projects
- and other areas
It also serves as the Council’s liaison to government and private groups as appropriate in supporting technology infrastructure development activities.
Programs – Doug Denninger
The Programs Committee is responsible for developing and implementing the programs and events offered to members and others in its target communities.
Services/Outreach – Peter Karlson
The Services Committee aims to be the organization’s public focus and focal point for support to the technology sector including liaison with other tech-oriented and business organizations, establishment of partnerships to communicate with other groups’ members, collaboration with educators, development of SIGs, and other efforts.
Finance – Kyle Hinkle
The Finance Committee, headed by the Council’s Board-elected treasurer, proposes policies to be approved by the Board to fund the organization and manages to Council’s finances, reporting, and administration.
Communications/Marketing – Jim Hill
The Communications Committee supports the public image of the Council through direction of a broad number of activities in media and promotion to ensure successful events attendance and aid the other committees in their work.
Education – Open
The Education Committee provides leadership for the Council’s educational programs, serving as the Council’s liaison to the independent Junior Tech program and work with the Program Committee to provided educational and training offerings to Council membership and to other groups within the region in the Council’s area of expertise.
Strategic Planning – Len Egan
The Strategic Planning Committee serves as a coordinating point for updating the Council’s 2010-2015 strategic plan and coordinating and overseeing its implementation. It also works to develop a new five-year plan for the period 2016-2021, beginning work in 2015
