Michael A. Tyler, Chief Investment Officer of Eastern Bank Wealth Management Division, will present “Think Global, Invest Local”
Investing, including the impact of technology, will be the subject of the Cape Cod Technology Council’s September 11, 2015 “First” Friday Breakfast. The breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Hyannis Golf Club on Route 132, just off Exit 6 South from the Mid-Cape Highway (Route 6). The event is being held on the second Friday in September due to the Labor Day weekend start the prior week.
Michael A. Tyler, Chief Investment Officer of Eastern Bank’s Wealth Management Division, will focus his talk on “Think Global, Invest Local”. He has been the division’s CIO since 2012.
Prior to joining Eastern, Michael founded and managed West Shore Investment Management LLC, a fundamentally-driven long/short equity hedge fund in San Francisco. From 1986 to 2002, Tyler served as a partner, portfolio manager and equity analyst at Wellington Management Company LLP in Boston. At Wellington, he built the firm’s telecom investment practice and managed mutual funds specializing in the global telecom industry.
Tyler is a Chartered Financial Analyst and earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from Princeton University and a Master in Business Administration degree with highest honors from Harvard Business School. He served on the board of Congregation Sha’ar Zahav in San Francisco, for whom he also co-edited and published an LGBT-themed prayer book.
The CCTC event includes networking and a hot breakfast followed by the presentation and questions and answers. The charge for CCTC members is $15, while there is a $20 charge for non-members.
