Privacy and Security In A Connected World

Connected devices and ubiquitous broad band offer convenience, but at a price. Your devices communicate all sorts of data to be collected by the government and companies. Every internet device is a potential  target for hacking and malware. Our panel of experts will discuss the security and privacy issues created by our increasingly connected world, including strategies to minimize the risk of being tracked, hacked, or profiled.

Chief Customer Experience Officer
The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank

As Cape Cod Five’s Chief Customer Service Officer, CJ Conrad is responsible for ensuring that every customer and prospective customer enjoys an excellent, seamless and consistent experience, whether through face-to-face interactions with Bank employees or though technology. In her role, she oversees all bank channels, including branches, online and mobile banking, as well as the Bank’s ATM network. She also supervises the Bank’s cash management and deposit operations.

CJ earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts from Bates College; she is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University. She has 19 years of experience in relationship building, community relations, channel development, branch administration, deposit operations, marketing, and strategic planning, much of it with community banks.

Todd has been involved in leading, developing and implementing business enhancing technology solutions for over a decade. As a consultant with NeuEon, Todd has been involved in a variety of engagements with non-profit and traditional businesses. These engagements span from strategy focused projects through implementation and management of multiple complex projects. Projects include the selection and implementation of key infrastructure components for a higher-education institution to process improvement initiatives for an organization-wide CRM and development tool.

Prior to that Todd, founded and created a successful digital media company expanding a traditional business by leveraging emerging technology. Todd also served as Executive Vice President of Operations for a national consumer retail company in the health and wellness industry. In this role, he built and managed various cross-functional teams responsible for supporting over 14 national retail centers. This included the implementation of all front-end and back office systems including marketing, sales, support and internal resource planning systems.

Legislative Counsel, American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts

GAVI WOLFE is legislative counsel at the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts.  Mr. Wolfe lobbies at the Massachusetts State House on a range of issues related to individual rights and liberties.  He is particularly concerned about the trend of increased government intrusion into private aspects of our lives at the same time that government activity is kept more and more secret.  He works to reverse that trend by advocating for both privacy rights in the digital age as well as government transparency.  Mr. Wolfe is a graduate of Boston College Law School.
