Job Description
Position: Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician
Employment:
McLane Research Laboratories, Inc. (www.mclanelabs.com) designs, manufactures, and sells reliable, autonomous, time-series sampling instruments for physical and biogeochemical ocean research and environmental monitoring. Our systems consist of Tattletale based control and data acquisition modules, analog and digital subsystems, oceanographic sensors, and custom software/hardware. This position is for a creative, self-motivated, experienced Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician who will have responsibilities in all facets of manufacturing. Applicants must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and be detail oriented.
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required 3+ years in Electro-Mechanical assembly experience required 2 year Associate degree in Mechanical Technology or other post high school education/or equivalent is preferred
Responsibilities
• Component and system level assembly and test of oceanographic sampling systems including:
o motor / gearhead / pump components
o high pressure housings
o assemblies using fasteners, tubing, cabling, adhesives, etc.
o configuration and bench testing add-on sensors
o connector / cable harnesses
• Inspect incoming parts for defects
• Assist in inventory management
• Provide customer support for McLane’s sampling and profiling products.
• Assist in packaging large instruments for shipping.
• Pickup and deliver stock and finished parts at local vendors.
• Edit and create documentation for standard and custom instruments.
• Assist flotation division as necessary.
• Other job duties as assigned.
