A Southern New England Entrepreneur’s Forum (SNEEF) Event
What does it take to be both sustainable and profitable as a business? Is it even possible? Businesses that take steps to become “greener” cannot afford to lose focus on profitability.
If you’re looking for ways to do both, join entrepreneurs, executives and business students at the Charlton College of Business, Umass Dartmouth, 285 Old Westport Road, first floor conference room, North Dartmouth on Thursday, Nov. 10, 7:30 a.m. for a panel discussion on reaping the benefits of sustainability and boosting the bottom line. This special Southern New England Entrepreneur’s Forum (SNEEF) event will help businesses that are getting started in sustainability as well as those looking to dive a little deeper.
Moderated by Susan Jennings, director of the Office of Campus and Community Sustainability at UMass Dartmouth, the event features experts offering ways to create substantive change and deep savings within a business and providing information on potential challenges from stakeholders and the company’s balance sheets. “Green” options for keeping your business afloat in a difficult economy, a list of sustainability resources, and potential entrepreneurial avenues in sustainability will be discussed.
Panelists are:
* Glenn Bachman, President of Raven Business Group, is a certified management consultant who has assisted organizations in strategic thinking, planning, organizational development, green transformation, and project management. He advises organizations in becoming more ecologically and socially responsible, while maintaining their profitability and is the author of The Green Business Guide.
* Carol Fisher proprietor of the Center Café in New Bedford’s South End, a sustainable business, used her background in sustainable property and business development to demonstrate sustainability as an investment concept. She focuses on fairly traded coffee and everyday real food. The cafe is the final piece of a sustainable urban development project known as ecoNewBedford that Fisher began in 2006.
* Bill Napolitano, founder and president of The Institute For Business Excellence®, helps others develop the attitudes, skills, knowledge, behaviors and capabilities they need for balance and purpose in their professional and personal lives. He has coached individuals within organizations both nationally and internationally to define long term strategies, improve revenue, develop leadership skills and competencies, and improve bottom line results.
