Position Summary

The Network Administrator plays a key role in maintaining a complex, hybrid network and computing infrastructure including both virtual machines, physical servers, and mobile devices.  Network and server resources reside in the cloud (AWS and Azure), our production colo facility, and on premise at CDS corporate offices. Core responsibilities include identifying requirements and deploying/ upgrading infrastructure, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, monitoring network performance and supporting users.

Essential Functions

1.     Supports a Windows Active Directory infrastructure including all ancillary services such as: DNS, DHCP, RRAS, Certificates, Clustering, DFS/DFS-R, Group Policies, Share and Storage Management, IIS (6 – 8.5), and IPSec.

2.     Performs MS Exchange administration versions 2013 through 2016.

3.     Performs MS SQL Server administration versions 2008 through 2016.

4.     Performs MS server and client operating system administration.

5.     Performs MS SharePoint administration versions 2010 through 2013

6.     Performs network administration including but not limited to IP subnetting, IP Routing and smart switches.

7.     Administers infrastructure security including hardening servers, traffic encryption, switch/router hardening, Advanced Next Gen Application Layer Firewalls and antivirus/anti-malware.

8.     Monitors backup, failover and disaster recovery implementations for servers and networking hardware.

9.     Performs workstation image management.

10.  Administers IP Telephony/Phone system Administration.

11.  Provides Help Desk Support to users throughout the organization.

Additional Technical Skills

1.     Familiarity with MS deployment tools including Windows AIK, DISM and PXE.

2.     Strong PowerShell scripting skills

3.     Strong in MS Office and Google’s G-Suite.

4.     Cisco, Fortinet, and HP Procurve experience highly desired.

5.     Shoretel experience a strong plus.

6.     Experience with AWS and MS Azure desired.

Oh And You’ll Need…

  • 5+ years experience working as a network administrator in a medium/large enterprise environment (gotta know your stuff).
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (gotta be nice).
  • Excellent attention to detail while balancing several concurrent projects (gotta juggle, gotta dance).
  • The ability to handle challenging situations and respond to unplanned occurrences outside of core business hours (can’t crack under pressure).
  • Finally, you must be smart, motivated, flexible, fearless in the face of new technologies, and eager to learn and grow.
