This two-session course introduces the newest growth sector in the U.S. energy industry, starting here with Vineyard Wind—the nation’s first large-scale offshore wind project. The initial session provides expert perspective on technology basics, global trends, why Cape Wind failed, and how a new generation of local projects will succeed. The second, which focuses on career opportunities and other benefits to be created as offshore wind projects move forward in southeastern Massachusetts and beyond, will also feature a guest speaker offering an inside look at Vineyard Wind.

Intended audience: Workers in marine, construction, welding, and other trades; business and manufacturing professionals; and entrepreneurs looking to ride the wave.
