POS and ASO Technologies for Cape Cod

Retail industry technology in the form of Point-Of-Sale and Advanced-Special-Order information systems will be the subject of the August First Friday Breakfast of the Cape Cod Technology Council.

Sid Snow, President and Chief Executive Officer of Snow’s Home and Garden in Orleans and Harwich, and Sharise Nunnally, Snow’s Information Technology Manager, will review the company’s application of the latest in retail technologies for business management, customer service, and financial success.  The breakfast will be held on Friday, August 1 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Hyannis Golf Club on Route 132, Hyannis.

Sid has worked in the family business since 1981 when he returned to Cape Cod after spending five years with the Jordan Marsh Company in Maine and Boston.  Snow’s has been at the forefront of retailing technology on the Cape, installing a computerized inventory system from Basic Four, in 1971 and subsequently implementing inventory/POS software from CCI Triad, then Activant, and now Epicor.

Sid received the Abraham Penn Community Award, in 2000, a Massachusetts State Citation for Community Service in 2004, the Lower Cape Community Development Partnership Community Hero Award in 2006, and the Husson University Alumni Hall of Fame Award 2013.  He has served on many boards including the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, Community Development Partnership and the Cape Cod Retail Council. He is currently a board member of the C&I Workforce Investment Board and the Cape Cod Foundation.

Sid holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Husson University and is a Professional Associate with the Gestalt International Study Center in Wellfleet.

nunnally1Sharise has been Snow’s Home and Garden’s IT Manager since January, 2009. Before joining Snow’s, Sharise spent 26 years with Pitney Bowes, working in various capacities related to network, file server, email and voice administration. At Snow’s, Sharise provides IT support for both the Orleans and Harwich stores, as well as an online store and over 100 network components. She oversees new store implementation, POS connectivity and multi-store software data migration. Sharise is responsible for the company’s computer purchases, upgrades and maintenance, which encompasses hardware, operating systems, backups, virus protection and the Microsoft office suite.

Sharise earned her degree in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT in 2000. She has also completed Continuing Nursing Education, credentialed in 1992.
