Product Marketing Specialists – Onset Computer

Job Summary:

This product marketing specialist will define, shepherd, launch and support new products; as well as support existing products.  This person will be responsible for researching marketing opportunities, defining market requirements for new products, and leading product launch activities.  In addition, the product marketing specialist will work closely with marketing communications in the development of product collateral, targeting, and lead generation activities.

Essential Functions:

  1. Researches and aggregates requests into prioritized lists of customer problems to be solved by building relationships with key industry contacts
  2. Develops application knowledge sufficient to translate user needs to value proposition statements. Works with Marketing Communications to build marketing collateral that supports the product position for new and existing products.
  3. Works with product manager and engineering in the definition and development of the solutions to the problems
  4. Conducts industry, market segment, customer, competitive and technology research, compiles data, perform analysis and shares insightful information. Writes personas when appropriate to guide organizational understanding of the customer.
  5. Conducts and presents periodic business reviews for assigned products and/or markets
  6. Provides product demonstrations and conducts product presentations for a variety of audiences including: customers, prospects, third parties, industry forum opportunities, employees and upper management
  7. Manages products within entire product life cycle through strategic planning and tactical execution including forecasting responsibility annually and within a monthly window for new products
  8. Provide product support and training to sales team as needed

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Adept at maintaining strong and fruitful relationships across all internal organizations
  2. Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, organizational, research and analytical skills
  3. Ability to manage activities, make effective recommendations, make independent decisions using sound judgment, and communicate information in a clear, understandable and informative manner
  4. Ability to conduct professional presentations for internal and external customers concerning strategic direction and vision for assigned products


Minimum education and work experience required:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience; MBA a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technical product marketing
  • Candidates with environmental or agricultural experience a plus
