Sheehan and Buckley (Hit and Run History) came together three years ago to partner on the creation of the documentary ‘Columbia Expedition’ that chronicles the first American circumnavigation in 1787. Buckley, a fisherman, politician and writer, came across the unknown story in 1995 and published a novel about it in 2000. Sheehan, who is an engineer and producer with IT/web experience, is providing ongoing sound and production services for the project. The two are now working to be distributed nationally through television and the web. See updates on the project on their Facebook page and WGBH page.

For First Friday, Sheehan and Buckley will share their experience in how a film or television/web series is created, produced and then brought to final distribution.  They will discuss their documentary concept and style, production methods, distribution points, and the financial constraints.  They will also discuss the technologies used on the project and some of the highs and lows they encountered along the way.
