Job Purpose:

As a Community Director, you will be responsible for implementing all aspects of the eforever program within your specific community. The Community Director will lead the implementation of the eforever program within the community and will be responsible for developing community relationships, recruiting members, managing the program, facilitating the groups and supporting the fundraising efforts.

Duties and responsibilities:

Develop community relationships and recruit members into peer-to-peer groups:

  • Work collaboratively with the eforever headquarters Sales Director to develop community outreach plan
  • Identify appropriate referral partners within the community such as local Chambers of Commerce or economic development groups who seek an innovative but proven way to stabilize and grow their entrepreneurial footprint
  • Actively engage with referral partners and community members to develop leads for peer group participants
  • Consistently execute the prescribed system for ongoing outreach to prospective members
  • Develop lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with referral partners

Facilitate the forever groups:

  • Ensure that the eforever group is effectively communicating with one another and
  • that the model of peer-to-peer is always prioritized.
  • Properly prepare for and deliver the eforever curriculum that is appropriate for each group meeting
  • Lead issue-processing sessions that relate to members’ business challenges
  • Foster the development of healthy, lasting group dynamics
  • Ensure that group members are learning, solving problems and becoming better-equipped business owners

Administer all aspects of the program:

  • Work collaboratively with the eforever headquarters Program Director to learn, implement and manage the specified program processes and procedures
  • Develop effective meeting agendas, send meeting reminders, coordinate and prep meeting venues, prepare and print meeting materials
  • Maintain communication with groups and individual members between meetings
  • Collect data and submit reports in a timely to eforever headquarters

Support fundraising efforts:

  • Actively support EforAll, our partner organization in Massachusetts, with joint fundraising efforts including preparing eforever program materials and participating in prospective donor meetings

Skills, Traits, and Competencies

The ideal eforever Community Director will have the following:

  • Proven small group facilitation skills, including the ability to elicit the wisdom of the group members and to bond them to one another.
  • Prior ownership of a profitable small business, ideally with more than 2 employees and >$1 million in annual sales
  • A commitment to the eforever mission: supporting small business owners to improve
  • their businesses and thereby their communities
  • A temperament for sales and fundraising outreach
  • A self-starter with strong collaboration skills particularly with internal and partner staff
  • Organized and capable of maintaining recording-keeping system despite being “on the move”
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict management, active listening, and networking expertise
  • Scheduling flexibility: meetings convene as early as 7:30 a.m. and may adjourn as late as 8:00 p.m. Weekend hours are not generally required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years as a successful small business owner
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • 5+ years of sales experience or related entrepreneurial experience
  • Superior communication, relationship building and collaborative capabilities

Desired:

  • A candidate who is familiar with economic development or small business development
  • Direct experience working with small business owners and in small business support communities
  • Personal commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
